An interesting article published online May 2020.
The study looked at Dutch detainees with criminal convictions and looked at how Traumatic Brain Injury related to aggression in inmates and prior convictions.
The study results show that those with a TBI are more likely to have had at least one prior conviction, plus they show a higher propensity for aggression.
Those with TBIs commonly showed issues with impulsivity, emotional processing, and aggression.
Many studies have analyzed the behavioral changes associated with TBI but this was an interesting one linking prior conviction rate and aggression along with verbal outbursts.
