We are living in an era of constantly being bombared with "thousands" of daily information by our devices. My questions are:
1. Do you find it difficult to focus and fully commit on everything you do?
2. What are some of the techniques you practice in order to stay fully focused and present in each moment?
erajshahzad99 gave some great tips there.
For my part, along with those excellent points, I also employ mindfulness. I love Thich Nhat Hanh's idea of 'washing the dishes to wash the dishes' so even when doing chores focusing intently on the moment is incredibly rewarding.
I generally do mindfulness meditation for about an hour each day. What's nice is the growing body of scientific research which is validating mindfulness practice as efficacious.
For anyone interested I would highly recommend Thich Nhat Hanh's 'The Miracle of Mindfulness'. It's a informative and thought-provking read about how to embrace the moment and not let your monkey mind wander.
Mindful apps such as the UCLA on the app store is fantastic and free. Along with the Plum Village app.
Altered Traits is another great book exploring what claims can be supported about mindfulness practice and which ones have no basis in science.
yeah, most of the time I feel distracted, things always get in the way, I procrastinate, get lazy and then I lose focus. however, for quite some time I have been using different techniques to stay fully focused and present in each moment for this first and foremost, I eliminate all sources of distraction.
Begin with the basics, such as relocating to a peaceful location. locking the door to my workspace by turning off notifications on my phone or turning it off completely, requesting that everyone around me refrain from distracting me for a certain period of time furthermore I close any programs or apps on my computer that aren't absolutely necessary.
These techniques have absolutely helped me a lot and might help me in the future as well.
