The dichotomy of nature vs nature has long been dismissed for a more nuanced view. Instead, the current understanding is that genetics are so influenced by the environment that they can be switched on or off according to environmental pressures. In criminal behavior a genetic predisposition may be aided by a safe nurturing environment as children.
One interesting aside is that one is only ever a few short steps away from criminal behavior. Moral and ethical choices can be probed until a criminal act seems like the only way for either the individual to survive or their families.
But even more that - a tumor in the right place or any number of neurological dysfunctions may influence the propensity for violence and executive decision making.
The line between criminality and law-abiding behavior is a tightrope, not an easily made binary choice.

As per my experience, people with personality disorders would traumatize their kid/s in a way that their kid's genetic disposition would eventually manifest.

Really great question :) Pretty much all personality disorders are more or less heritable. Of course, the environment still plays a huge role.
