We know that marihuana is legal in lots of places and in up to 11 states in USA. But does marihuana have important effect on schizophrenia? It is a substance with hallucinogens effects. I recently watched a video about this and I will attach the link. Does anybody know the scientific answer to this?

I have also seen, both in research and in my own clinical work, the increased risk of schizophrenia @Isreal.O and @Nina M. mentioned. Although most research shows the increased risk to be small, it's significant. Many of the individuals with schizophrenia who I interview have told me that they felt smoking marijuana increased their feelings of paranoia. However, in some cases the individuals have told me it made them feel more relaxed. Part of it will depend on the potency of the marijuana they are using. Some synthetic versions can be quite harmful.
