Intriguing topic and article. Thanks for sharing @Iulia Vulcu.
While doing further research on the subject, I came across these 2 articles I thought you might find insightful.
"Spiritual aspects of psychosis and recovery" by Dr Susan Mitchell - https://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/docs/default-source/members/sigs/spirituality-spsig/susan-mitchell-spiritual-aspects-of-psychosis-and-recovery-edited.pdf?sfvrsn=23c8dab0_2
"The impact of spirituality on mental health" A review of the literature by Dr Deborah Cornah on behalf of the Mental Health Foundation - https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/sites/default/files/impact-spirituality.pdf
There are a lot of similarities between shamanism and schizophrenia and I wrote an article about it on my website. This is a good way to look at spirituality and psychosis. It’s called the shamanic view of mental illness and looks at psychosis having strong similarities to what shamans call the “initiation process“ which is a key component to being able to travel to the lower realm before ascending to the upper realm and enlightenment. They also mentioned the middle realm which is basically reality.
