OCD is a chronic condition, a mental and behavioural state which involves either or both obsessions and compulsions. People affected with OCD usually experience recurring unwanted thoughts, they feel the need to perform certain rituals repeatedly to an extent where it causes distress.
An individual suffering from OCD can exhibit frequent and excessive handwashing due to intrusive thoughts of germs, dirts or anything whatsoever. Feelings of insecurity and constantly checking if doors are well closed is also one of it. OCD can be treated through counselling.
Thank you for sharing.
I would like to add that everyone who was diagnosed with OCD doesn't have to be suffering from obsessions and compulsions at the same time. One of my friends is suffering from obsessions but not compulsions.
