I'm curious to learn how we correlate homicide and mental illness... Obviously, the first thing that comes to mind is antisocial/sociopathic/psychopathic individuals. Has anyone done research about this particular topic? I'm also interested to learn what mental disorder is least likely to result in homicide.

Hi, Nina! You are right on the consideration of psychopathy and antisocial personality disorder. I am attaching a study you might find interesting. The authors found that "between 1997 and 2006, the number of homicide perpetrators with schizophrenia increased at a rate of 4% per year, those with psychotic symptoms at the time of the offence increased by 6% per year." They attributed this at least in part to substance use.
As a quick side note, for a more unique form of homicide, homicide-suicides, research shows an unsurprisingly high rate of depression (close to 40% of cases). Substance use and psychosis have high rates in these cases as well.
I do not have a knowledge about this but I am assuming the mental illnesses where the person's mind is attacking to the person's existence would probably cause less homocide because the person is having a problem with themselves and it is more likely for them to end their own life than ending others. It is a very sensitive topic. I hope anyone who reads this feel better in time if they let themselves and never forget that life offers you something to live for, and look for those offerings even if they are very small.
Take care
