So for some really interesting insights into neurological disorders, you might want to check out the work of Oliver Sacks if you haven't already, he and V.S Ramachandran have written extensively on neurological disorders.

These are really accessible and provide a nice gateway into learning about various disorders.

If you're interested in bizarre neurological conditions then I would start with these two authors.

If it's a more general look at psychology, the central textbook I started with was Gross Psychology now in its eighth or ninth edition.

This is highly accessible and looks at some of the major themes of psychology and how they seek to explain various features of human psychology.

For case studies (which I always find interesting) I tend to rely on my Oxford University Press books like 'Neurological case histories' (Pendlebury, Anslow, Rothwell, 2007) these books I would rely on after reading all that Sacks and Ramchandran have to offer as they go a bit deeper into diagnosis following hospitalisation.

Lishman's organic psychiatry is a great edition to any library and offers pretty comprehensive material on everything from various types of alexia or agraphia, all the way to neuropsychiatric symptoms of brain tumours.
