One of the major drawbacks of the pandemic has been for safe data collection and as Josh states issues over privacy with other methods of data collection. My project for university and experiment couldn't be run this year due to data collection issues.
Logistically the pandemic has probably affected forensic psychology in much the same way as it has everything else - with an increasing backlog being created. Here in the UK in just medical terms, the pandemic has led to some cancer patients being unable to receive their treatment in a timely fashion causing some of these patients to lose their lives.
Contrast that with forensic psychology and one can see how dangerous this pandemic was - not just in terms of primary effect but that of second and thrid effects. The true cost of this pandemic will take historians a while to calculate that's for sure.

I believe that the major challenge could be the telehealth for the evaluations due to concerns with privacy mostly.
