Like in terms of brain differences? Both are displays of Anti-Social Personality Disorder but in different terms....Psychopaths become calm when they see someone hurting/in distress and do not have a normal "human" reaction to another human being in distress. They enjoy it and get a high off it. Think Ramsay Bolton in Game Of Thrones.
Sociopaths are just kind of self involved basically and unaware of how they hurt others or just don't care or have any empathy for others and will only really engage or invest in others if there is something in it for them because they are reckless and love to manipulate others to get what they want. In fact they will do anything just to satisfy their appetites. Think Joffrey Baratheon in Game of Thrones and Francis Underwood in House of Cards. Constantly manipulating people to get what they want, impulsive and reckless behaviors, with no disregard for how it affects anyone and often to gain power over others to keep feeding their selfish and sick appetites.
