What can we do as experts to help the male victim of domestic violence? Is there a need for more excellent knowledge to pass on to criminal justice or forensic psychologist practitioners and provide them with the same services as any other victim of domestic violence?

Getting male abuse to be taken seriously is the first hurdle. Much as is the case with female domestic violence it's about removing victim blame and assigning it to the perpetrator.
On the specifics of what help is offered I'm not too sure.
It's a great question though and very relevant.
I definitely think increased education on male victims of domestic violence is needed because there is a lot of stigma associated with it, and it is true that they're less likely to seek help. I think when seeking help, practitioners are equipped to treat them, but the barrier is to getting there.
Interesting question. I think that men are generally less likely to seek help if they find themselves in an abusive relationship. This doesn't mean that it's not happening, I just believe that men and women are different in that regard. I'm not sure whether practitioners need to have a different approach when it comes to male victims, perhaps someone else can give you a more educated answer.
