Forensic psychologists have the opportunity of putting their abilities to good use in the public interest. They could, for example, work for the FBI as special agents. According to the FBI's website, the Bureau is actively seeking persons with a background in counselling or psychology.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States, adhere to the FBI Drug Policy, and have a top-secret security clearance. All job openings must meet these parameters.
At the time of registration, prospective FBI special agents must be between the ages of 23 and 36 and hold a bachelor's degree or higher.
They must also have a valid driver's licence and a minimum of two years of work experience. You can still join the Bureau if you have a master's or doctoral degree but only one year of experience.
