What can we do to assist society's boys and men who are victimized to verbal abuse? Or may forensic psychologists use the same methods as they do with female victims?
I agree with Daniel. A huge problem with male victims is that the stigma and shame creates barriers to care, not that similar care to female victims is not effective.
Much of the aims surrounding violence will be in reducing the stigma and creating a safe non-judgmental space for males to tell their story and get access to mental health resources.
Much as is the case with female victims and more recently non-binary individuals. Non-specialists can aid in a variety of ways by:
Listening without judgment
Becoming familiar with resources and non-profits which the victim may find useful.
Perhaps by helping that individual cope with legal issues, 'making calls' and writing assistance should it be needed.
