I do believe gender differences exist in domestic violence. From local records, the male gender are usually seen to be instigators of violence or abuse. This in my perspective could be linked to masculinity and the ego attached, seeing themselves stronger than their partners or whoever they are involved with. This doesnt rule out the fact the females are capable of or do instigates violence.
