Another book recommendation:
I'm currently reading this book, it wasn't specifically for the degree I'm taking in forensic psychology, though it's coming in useful.
So far it's made some great points about the limits of profiling and how it needs to be addressed scientifically and be based upon statistics. Profiling has received wide attention due to popular series that can sometimes embellish the abilities of profilers.
That's not to say profiling isn't useful, but that it needs to be based upon solid research.
Currently reading a chapter on Jack the Ripper and the historical context of profiling.
