@John. T You raised a really good point! I think what is best for the child can be determined by doing some research. It's good for all parents to take the time and learn about the development (emotional, intellectual, social) of children so that they can make informed decisions later on.
Trying to do the best depends on individual differences as well such as the child's temperament. Some children are more observant and others are more active so it's important to adjust the parenting style in order to make the child feel validated and supported. Other individual differences can be disorders or disabilities. That's why it's really important to closely monitor and diagnose children early on.
