Hi everyone!
I've recently started considering enrolling in a BSc (Honours) Forensic Psychology course and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of career potential I can expect.
I'd like to know what my options are before I make this decision, so any advice is much appreciated :)
Well then we are in luck since the US is the only country I can give you an adequate answer for. In the US, forensic psychologists most often work for psychiatric hospitals, state or federal prisons/jails, private practices, and universities. The most common work forensic psychologists do in the US is forensic psychological evaluations. However, many forensic psychologists have multiple roles/jobs (I personally enjoy that variety). In addition to the evaluations, they may conduct scientific research, teach at universities, write books, or work as a trial consultant to attorneys. Some work primarily in administrative roles. They might even make forensic psychology forums in their spare time... Sadly, the last one is unpaid.
Good luck on that program if you do it. I am currently in school studying psychology as well.
In the US hopefully :)
Do you mind if I ask which country you plan to work in?
You can be probation officer, consultant to police and jury, counsellor and etc.
It is a nice . And if you are wondering about money ;this field is a money mine. But it is a hard major to pursue. You have to work hard.
"Nothing in this world worth having comes easily" always keep this quote in mind.
I hope you make decision. More power to you.
