I think what this means, in other words, is that they have a good understanding of what is morally acceptable but they don’t care because all those rules don’t really make any logical sense to them. That‘s probably because they are not bound by emotions. They probably don’t have a conscience either.
I totally agree! If we've done something that we know is wrong we have a guilty conscience which doesn't really happen for them (they're not capable of feeling guilty).. they definitely don't have a conscience at all.
This is also something I've found on Web MD: "A psychopath doesn't have a conscience. If he lies to you so he can steal your money, he won't feel any moral qualms, though he may pretend to. He may observe others and then act the way they do so he's not “found out,” Tompkins says."
